RightFax Web Access

An Overview

The RightFax Web Client is an add-on module that connects RightFax users directly to their personal fax mailboxes via the Web. Whether located at the office, at home, or on the other side of the world, RightFax users can send, receive, and manage their faxes from a single, intuitive interface regardless of operating system or Web browser. The Web Client provides access to all of the RightFax fax management tools from any Windows®, Macintosh®, UNIX, or other workstation platform that can use a Web browser. And, fax users can access their personal fax mailbox from anywhere in the world at anytime of day or night via the Internet.  As a true thin client application, the RightFax Web Client is installed and configured entirely on the RightFax server. Centralized installation gives administrators the ability to roll out a full-featured fax client to all network users at once. And, because it is modeled after the highly acclaimed RightFax FaxUtil client application, RightFax users require little to no additional training to begin accessing and managing their faxes remotely.

How it Works

The RightFax Web Client installs as an addition to your Microsoft Web server and works as a liaison between the Web server and the RightFax server. Clients use an HTML interface to access the same RightFax database normally accessible only via the LAN. When a RightFax user accesses the RightFax server through a Web browser, the RightFax Web Client acts as a gateway between the two servers; converting HTTP formatted requests into RightFax-formatted queries and replies (and vice-versa). Requests travel from the Web browser to the Web server where they are translated by the Web Client and then delivered to the RightFax server. The Web Client can be viewed with any Web browser that is compatible with HTML 3.2 such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
